Classical Charter Schools of Wilmington is an inspiring charter school that opened in August, 2013.  We replicate our three sister schools in the Classical Charter Schools of America network – leaders among charter schools for a quarter-century.  This tuition-free, open enrollment K-5 school is conveniently located at 507 North Sixth Street, Wilmington, NC 28401 in the former Peabody Elementary building.

The four schools in the CCS-America network enroll more than 2,700 students in grades k through 8 and are widely recognized as compelling choices to conventional public education.  They are consistently the highest-scoring schools in their respective counties. The primary goal for our schools is to provide a safe and secure environment for students to be challenged daily to perform at high levels of achievement. The certified and highly qualified teaching staff is experienced in delivering proven curricula that produce high scores in the early grades.

CCS-Wilmington provides free breakfast and lunch to those who qualify, and operates on a year-round school calendar with drop-off from 7:30 for classes beginning promptly at 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM.  After-school care is available from 3:00 to 5:30 for homework, tutoring, and activities.  Explore our web site, take the video tour, and enroll your child today.

Due to the potential

Out of an abundance of caution due to road conditions and campus safety concerns, our campus will transition to remote learning tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. While conditions may continue to improve, this decision allows us to prioritize everyone’s well-being while ensuring continuity of learning.

Remote learning plans are in place, and additional details regarding assignments and expectations will be shared by your child’s teacher.

Thank you for your continued support and flexibility. Please stay safe, and we look forward to welcoming students back to campus as soon as conditions allow.
